About Me
Hello, I'm Shelley, a British qualified primary teacher with over 12 years of teaching experience in both the UK and Switzerland. Throughout my career, I have worked with children from Reception through to Year 6, supporting them academically while helping them grow in confidence and develop a genuine love of learning.
My teaching journey has included leadership roles, including serving as Head of an Infant School, where I led teaching and learning while continuing to work closely with pupils, staff and families. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how children learn best and how to tailor teaching to meet individual needs. One of the things I am most proud of is my reputation for helping children who have lost confidence in themselves. I believe that every child can succeed when they feel supported, understood and encouraged.

Building self-belief is at the heart of my teaching, and I strive to create lessons where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and celebrate their progress.
Having taught in both the UK and Switzerland, I have experience delivering the British National Curriculum as well as a range of international curricula. This enables me to support families from a variety of educational backgrounds, whether they are looking to reinforce school learning, prepare for a move between education systems, or simply help their child reach their full potential.
Today, I offer personalised online tuition in English and Maths, combining the expertise of an experienced classroom teacher with the flexibility and individual attention that one-to-one tutoring provides. My aim is simple: to help every child become a confident, happy and successful learner.

" Shelley has taught both of my children, and is always fantastic. My eldest really struggled with spelling and getting things out of his head and onto paper - Shelley instantly asked what his favourite things were and created work that would excite him. He flourished under her guidance and his work was unrecognisable.
With my youngest, a totally different student, she constantly found new ways to challenge him and he was working a year above himself by the end of his time with her.
I would go out on a limb to recommend her, she is brilliant! "

" Shelley is an amazing teacher , she followed my son of from when he was 7 years old until 8 , he did not like to read and study when he started with Shelley he had many insecurities at school and now manages to read whole books, before he had complete rejection to school. As well for math he is now enjoying quite lot . She is also really flexible for the timing. And we find a good way to schedule it . She is good at programming the class by changing topics so it is not boring and she really checks what he likes so he is passionate and does not hate the class ."
